Death Note sidestory: true or false?

hey i heard that there is a sidestory of deathnote and takes place in L.A is it true? or just a rumour?

There's a special single-chapter oneshot that serves as a sequel to the series. Three years has passed and someone is killing the elderly. Srsly.

Oh, you're talking about the novel, Death Note: Another Note, written by NISIOISIN. Ah, that's what I get for skimming and assuming. The novel serves as a prequel and focuses on L and the B.B Murder Case that is mentioned in the series.

yes. this is the book. it talks of L's encounter with the murderer in L.A. alongside Naomi Misora and describes how certain aspects of the anime and manga came to be.

definately a page turner. go pick it up....NOW!!!!
And to add on to Innerhell, the book is called Death Note: Another Note: The L.A. BB Murder Files

yeah there is a side story in vol 13

its no rumor chi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh and in the book too it shocked me too
