Lightbulb Making Manga

Howdy

I was wondering if anyone knew the correct format in which to script manga.
I mean I have all these ideas buzzing around my head but am unable to put them on paper. If i were to find a way i would probably send them to some manga companys and was just sorta trying to figure out what format they like work to be submitted in.

Any help with this matter is greatly appreciated.

Re: Making Manga

Hi....I kinda found some info for you but I will tell you under one condition.....you have to be my friend afterwards lol. Just kidding you don't have to. Well I found you a site where you could submit some of you manga and you could be picked up. They have guide lines for how big they want their mange and I'm kinda sure these are the guide lines for all mangas.

3. All entrants should be aware that winning submissions may be published in an anthology whose page size will be 5” x 7-7/16“. Submissions must be photocopies sent on 8-1/2” x 11” paper and proportionately scalable to a 5” x 7-7/16” format. Please refer to our Mechanical Specification Guidelines for further help.

Here is the site link so that maybe if you wanted you could submit your stuff and maybe become famous one day.

TOKYOPOP :: Rising_Stars_of_Manga's :: Gopro :: Submission Deta

P.S.
Good Luck! Remember me if you make it big lol

P.P.S. Click that !Thanks! Icon for me to if I helped you I really would like to be thanked lol THANKS

Re: Making Manga

I have my own manga started, there are many ways of making your own format! But start by wrighting down your ideas, then later on you wont forget them, (I made that mistake) then just start by panniling it out, Go to TOKYOPOP :: Leading the Manga Revolution for 10 Years and Beyond! :: and they have more info there.

Re: Making Manga

I'm afraid that manga is generally scripted by the artists themselves or by published writers/novelists who have been specifically partnered with an artist they know or who has already become famous at the behest of a company.

Unless you intend to draw the art yourself or give your story, no strings attatched, to an artist you personally know to claim as their own: you have no hope in #### of getting your story made into manga.

So as far as scripting goes: don't worry about it.

Instead, go to an art class or a hundred.

She isn't exaggerating. Not to mention people who go to some of the top schools in the states for their degree in sequential and still struggle to get published long afterwards. Plus the curriculums in the US aren't exactly geared towards "manga" infact in my own personal experience alot of comic/sequential professors look down upon manga as redundant and uninspired. Which is totally hyprocritical, but thats a whole other US Comics vs. Manga argument.

If you're an artist post some of your work in the fanart gallery. We are in dire need of some quality.
