Thread: Manga got you so sucked in?

I've had a few mangas that have really sucked me in.

Although I don't think I ever stopped reading normal books.. What happen for me was whatever manga I was addicted to at the time completely infulenced my choice of actual books.

I'll admitt that it still happens from time to time xD

High school of the dead, highly recommended!!! im totally sucked straight into themanga at the moment, i cant wait for them to turn into a anime just so i can see some zombies an hard core ecchi scenes at the same time!! haha

There are quite a few that I have that sucked me in, but none did more so than Great Teacher Onizuka. I read an exerpt from a 2002 manga sampler and bought the first volume. Holy crap I never thought I would ever laugh out loud at a book. This series is absolutely brilliant.

Another one was Love Hina. Read through it twice. Great humor, but a little more on the cute side I think.

well i rarely read books...... well those that i don't find interesting that is.... the best manga i've read so far is 666 Satan...... that look similar to naruto but it's about a Kid Jio that has Satan in his Body

well for me i'm not really a bookworm... and the only reason i read manga is because i don't watch the anime version for that particular series... so manga doesn't really affect whether i feel like reading normal books or not...
frankly... the only manga series i've read is Negima Master Negi Magi..
although i'm considering get backers, zero no tsukaima, spice and wolf and ichigo 100%

The manga that drove real novels out of my life were : Love Hina, Ai Yori Aoshi,Tsubasa,Ranma 1/2 ect.Manga keeping books out of my life are: Negima!, I"s,Death Note,Naruto,Nana,Ouran HS Host Club & King Thorn.
It saddens me that I can't get into a good novel right now.The last one I read was a Colombian crime drama...gah! I think I need to reread some of my old favs like Aubrey Knight series,Gaunt Ghost series & David Eddings Belgarian series.Maybe that'll weaken the hold Manga n' American comix have on my darkened soul =P

That's also happened to me, I started checking out one "normal" book every time I went, but then I wouldn't read it until it was a week before it was due ( and they check out for a month at a time )
