    Re: Reading in the Bookstore

I read in book stores, too, and not just manga. I never read the whole book, but I take my time. The whole time I'm reading, I'm thinking if the book sounds like one I've already read(I don't like similar story lines), and if the art and story are things I like. I'm always very careful not to bend the spine, or tear any pages. I don't bend pages, and if I find some that are already bent, I try to fix it. I have more respect for books than probably anything else.
Sometimes I won't have the money at that time to buy it then and there, but I'll make sure to come back when I do, and get it. I put the title in my mental list, then when I get home, I put it on the one I have in Microsoft Word.
Treat me like an angel, and I'll be your little devil.

    Re: Reading in the Bookstore

....well for me i hate when people read it there cuz when i buy it, its mine right??
but how do you know who did what
    and when?
see when you buy stuff its better to buy the ones that are pakaged
i recommend that all manga should be pakaged
if you cannot afford manga then, my bad for being mean but its the way i feel about this

I praise the one who is able to win it all and still live for it...[/CENTER

Every one has there own opinions about this. I personally read not just manga but other novels and such and i don't care what people think. Everyone does it and you can't stop that.

    Re: Reading in the Bookstore

I'm against people reading in bookstores, and anywhere that sells books or manga as a matter of fact. I go around to places in Singapore, and Kinokuniya... Many books are in bad condition. Seriously, I pay 20 bucks for a good book and the cover is frayed, what kind of service is that? While it is good to be able to sample the book before buying it, reading it all the way through and then going off after mutating the book is very irresponsible. Why don't bookstores have a corner with one or two books of several titles to try reading? Or maybe we can request a staff to make a book available in that corner if it isn't there. It certainly beats people randomly picking a book/manga of a favorite title and them leaving it there, making the store look like a second hand bookshop.

If that can't happen, it's common sense that if you read a book that does not belong to you, you keep it in the original condition. We should really start thinking about our behavior, it really shows others about their bringing up. Someone should start a campaign or something to educate the world population...

There is nothing wrong with reading manga in the bookstore. When you read manga in the bookstore you are pretty much checking if the content of the manga book you want to buy is worth your time and money.

    Re: Reading in the Bookstore

I find it disgracing to the manga to sit in the store and read the manga. If you like the title and the story plot line they put on the back of every single book! then buy it for goodness sake. Especially if you set in read the entire book, i mean it usually takes me around a hour to read a volume of manga, and i usually enjoy it so sitting in the store and reading would be a major waste of time for myself.

Instead of getting a manga book in the store and reading it putting freaking your hand sweat over all the pages and ruining the book and when someone like me goes in and wants to buy it can't because someone else has ruined it "I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN BEFORE". Buy it and take care of it, i would rather see a manga being bought than just stolen in the store. An that is what it is its visiually steaking someone elses artwork! be ashamed! *smacks paws* >.<

    Re: Reading in the Bookstore

Here's one thing I don't like about ppl reading the books w/o buying them. Just the other day my friend and I made a quick stop into B&N, and she was the only one w/ money, so I didn't even really look, but she found vol 2 & 3 of the series she's on, so she got real excited. But when she pulled out the vol 3, hello! POP STAIN!! I was like, wth? And not only that, but pages were torn, bent, and MISSING! It looked to me like someone had just switched their own book for the newer version. What an ass.
