![]() Credits: 2,360 | Samurai-Themed Manga Does anyone read samurai-themed manga? Or is there anyone interested in samurai? I've read a few titles and a lot of them are my favorites, including: Lone Wolf and Cub Samurai Executioner Rurouni Kenshin Lady Snowblood (this is debatable) Samurai Champloo Has anyone ever read these or possibly other titles, perhaps?

![]() ![]() Credits: 6,581 | Re: Samurai-Themed Manga KURO GANE (from Del Ray) is a super good samurai manga... basically a wandering samurai is killed by a group of ravenous dogs, and then a hermit dutch scientist/doll maker gives him a robot body (mind you, this is like 1800s so everything looks cool and steam-tech). however, the robot cannot speak cuz he doesn't have a robot voice box. becuz of this, the doll man gave him one of his first creations, a sword that can talk (another unlukcy samurai, his mind, eye and voice were transfered into the sword). the doll man dies before he can give the samurai a voice box, so the robot and sword become a good team. one speaks and the other acts. that's how the story begins, then it follows his exploits as a wanderer. the stories are crazy deep and the character development is some of the best i've seen. the characters feel real, as do their emotions, which is very different from most manga today. they even give you the historical facts that pertain to the story in the ack of the book, as well as explain any cultural refrences. there's also a very detailed glossary to explain foreign words! ^_^ an easy 10 out of 10 for me!

![]() Credits: 2,360 | Re: Samurai-Themed Manga I liked the manga more than the anime though. After the Kyoto arc, RK just kinda went downhill from there. Sure, the Shimabara Arc was still interesting, with Shogo Amakusa as the main antagonist that time, the fights were still good and all. But Jinpu and his feng shui crap just destroyed it all. Those weren't in the manga, and just that made the manga 10 times better than the anime lol.
