If anyone can find a copy of Samurai Champloo vol. 3, you are "The Man" in my book. I'd have to say it's one of the best recent samurai themed manga out there right now. It's got it's own story line, so the goals are the same, but it doesn't follow the anime, which is pretty awesome in my book. I really wish that I can find a place that actually carries this series, because I've been looking for vol. 3 for the last ten months now!!

rurouni kenshin was a great read, had alotta fun readin it, the anime kinda left me high an dry after the Shishio Arc though, but the story ends either way, on a good note in the long run, samurai champloo was a GREAT anime too, but the thing is, other than those 2, i dont really know of anymore samurai animes, which is upsettin cuz they're always really cool

I guess i will have to go old school and say rurouni kenshin unless of course you include setsuna from negima as a samurai and then it's a whole new conversation ^.^
i read them sometime, but wacth them is so much fin. and i love anime so much
