Favorite comic labels:
(Japanese)
BEAM - gender neutral adult comics without a heavy emphasis on violence or porn, an incredibly adventurous label with a phenomenal history of supporting more experimental or fringe artists. Favorites: "51 Ways to Protect the Girl" (complete), "Hourou Musuko" (ongoing)
RUTILE - Boys' Love is a crappy, bloated, self-important hole of a genre... but Rutile manages to exist somewhere on the fringe of that cesspool benefitting from the Josei boom but opting for lesser-known artists, gentler stories, and no sexual content quotas. It's not uncommon to read an entire Rutile magazine and be only vaguely aware of it's genre. Everything's cute, most of it's genuinely funny, and very little makes you feel like a dirty creep for reading it. Favorite: "69" (ongoing)
