Thread: hikaru or koaru? how do u tell?

Well for starters Hikaru's hair is almost always parted to the left *reader's right* while Kaoru's is parted to the right *reader's left* Also, Hikaru is usually standing on the far right of the panel since he generally speaks first. There are exceptions to these rules like when they wear hats etc, but you get the idea. ^_^ I agree that it is easier to tell the two apart in the anime with the different voice actors, it just takes a little more effort with the manga. When the boys are at the club, Hikaru is the one that embarrasses Kaoru and Kaoru acts insecure in front of the ladies. Of course it gets really easy to tell them apart after issue 12 or so...but I won't spoil it in case you aren't there yet. I hope this was of some help to you, have fun reading the manga!

Haruhi also says in the show how she could tell those two apart so if you watch it then you might understand more
