Fruits Basket Spoilers ^___^

So all of my friends are asking me Who does tohru end up with?? The answer is : KYO!! ive seen almost every episode (i saw ep's 7-26) hehe.. oh!! and i just have to say this. AKITO IS ACTUALLY A WOMEN!! i kno its shocking! when i found out i was so surprized ^__^ well, i hope none of u are mad at me for spoiling it ^^

awww i thought tohru would be with yuki....(but i kno he ends up with machi) no fair i dont like kyo.

In the ANIME Honda Tohru does not wind up with anyone, she remains with the group. Her and Sohma Kyo do not wind up as a couple in the series. Sohma Yuki doesn't wind up with her either. WATCH THE ENDING (actually eps 25 & 26) AGAIN if you don't believe me. The way it is stated is that she wants to continue living with "them" yes Kyo hugs her after she states she wishes to remain with them but that in no way suggests they become a couple. The only thing that can actaully truely be said that happened here was that Tohru had to except Kyo in his worst state/form in order for him to truely accept her as a "friend." Now I am speaking solely about the anime.

If you plan to read the manga and haven't...don't read the below:

In the manga Kyo and Tohru do become a couple. From chapters 114 to 129 of the manga Tohru and Kyo's relationship fully develops. The series ends with Kyo kissing Tohru and then while embracing her, Kyo is not turned into a cat.

There is a quote that explains why:
"When one who was never loved is loved, that ancient promise nears the end"

Suggesting that because the cat has now been "truely" loved the Sohma curse is lifted.

The problem with that is Sohma Kagura (The Boar).

It is said in the series that she "loves" Kyo which by the above quote should have broken the curse.

However there are 2 explainations for why this didn't happen.

1) Since she suffers the same curse she can't break it by loving Kyo, much the same way she can't turn him into a cat when she hugs him.

2) It is later stated in the manga she really felt strong "pity" not love for Kyo which is why the curse didn't break.

yeh it was good and i loved the twist of akito being a girl, i would have never thought of that, and what happens to akito in the end?

Ummmm is the Anime and Manga of Fruits Basket Have different endings? i have watched all the episodes to fruits basket but never read the manga b4 though i would but idk if the manga version is good :/

When everyone is free Akito finally shows them she's a woman. Shigure gives her a pretty kimono to wear when they're all free so she puts that on. Then after she's met them all she goes to see Shigure whom she argued with a few chapters ago and they finally make up.

Yes, the anime only covers the first 8 out of 23 volumes so it technically has no ending. The manga is the only one that gives you an ending and is very good.

To elablorate on why the curse was broken; we also learn that when the cat's words of not wanting eternity finally reached God's heart, then the spell was lifted. Kami was the one to cast the spell hoping he would be able to be with the cat forever but it wasn't what the cat wanted. So it suggests the being loved again part was only half of the cure to the spell.

Yes, they both have different ending, the manga is much longer and better, but the anime was pretty good I just thought that the ending needed work. So if I were you I would go for the manga its amazing.
