As long is it doesn't feature explicit sex scenes it's not hentai.
after watching this series, the thought accured to me, how rude does an anime have to be to be called hentai? with all the boobs nudity and well.... other stuff, is it really anime or just hentai? yes there is a story line and all, but there is soo much sexual content i just dont know.

Ikki Tousen is the koolest fan service anime type that is currently out there.

Of course, that is one of the problems with 'Ikki Tousen' is that if you eliminate the fanservice and the fight scenes, there's nothing left to the series...
Though 'Ikki Tousen' is neither the first, nor the last to offer extreme sexual fanservice. You have 'Tenjho Tenge', 'Najica Blitz Tactics', 'Agent Aika', 'Burn Up W/Burn Up Excess'... going all the way back to the 1980s 'Dirty Pair'... With maybe the exception of the original 'Dirty Pair' TV series, none of these series would be classified in the 'Classic' or 'Excellent' categories...
I made myself sit through that series. My theory is that they needed a way to cover upthe super unrealistic storyline. Mostly guys watch anime so how do you distract guys...(well if you don't know then I won't tell you)

I like it for being RUDE! Wish the girls in school were just as willing... heh heh. But the manga is even better. They trash-talk so much it brings tears to my eyes... tears of joy!
