There is an episode about the ANBU this sunday in japan.
Yondaime was part of the ANBu.
If it's not in the manga, than chances are that it's noncanon.
Episode 196 is to be released at August 9th, Wednesday, and it is titled "Clash of Tears! Hot Blooded Teacher and Student Showdown".
Episode 197 is to be released at August 16th, Wednesday, and it is titled "The Konoha 11 Gather!"
Episode 198 is to be released at August 23rd, Wednesday, and it is titled "The ANBU Also Gave Up, Naruto's Recollection"
Episode 199 is to be released at August 30th, Wednesday, and it is titled "Missing the Mark, The Visible Target".
The season ends at 199. After that is either Kakashi Gaiden or Part Two. September was the expected death of filler hell and was the proposed time that the anime would finally go back to the main story.
