Princess Mononoke ending - Page 2

i do agree that it would have made it more cheesy with them staying together forever.
BUt i don't really remember the ending that well. But it was still a cool movie

A suitable ending, in my opinion. After the breathtaking events that lead to the climax, I think Miyazaki was right in mellowing down the pace to the simple ending, perhaps that's his idea of emphasizing the message of his story more than the story itself to make its influence last longer to the viewer. Simple endings, I notice, have aways been his style, well, mostly at the least. And if I think about it, I don't think Ashitaka and San would have been ready at once for a relationship right after the emotional changes that have happened in their lives and to the world around them. It was quite natural that their first concern would be to help their "people" to live again and look forward to their hopeful future.

Ashitaka cannot go back to his village anyway because of his sentence. A future between San and Ashitaka is indeed a possibility, only, it can't happen so soon. I guess we'll never know, for the movie does not tell anymore.

The ending was pretty good. I'm not suprised ashitaka went back to help rebuild the iron town. After all, he had made many friends there and if there was no iron town where would all the women and men go live? Besides he said that he would visit san so they're still together. It was a great ending.

I own the movie and actually would perfer it to have alaternate ending butt i did line the current one so i would change it that much.

you know when i first saw it i was like WHAT r u serous but now i kinda get his point of view especially scince he ends ALL his movies like that

it was good as they made it or they wouldnt havent sold as many copys as they did. I say just leave stuff alone if the red button says dont touch then dont touch yo.
