Question on Silent Hill Movie!

Can someone explain to me why at the end why is the blonde haired women stuck in the alternate reality or whatevr it is? i got confused.... also when she entered Silent Hill did she go bk in time? cus somehow evryone is still young...

they're actually stuck in silent hill. it shows the end of the first game. this is how the 2nd game came into play. the husband searching for his wife and daughter in silent hill.

the creators of the movie intended the ending to be open for the audience to make their own specualations on the meaning of the ending

some say that they are stuck in the alternate Silent Hill
while some say that they are actually dead and are just spirits
the crash could've killed them instantly
that spill the cop girl had? seems almost impossible that she even survived
so... maybe they died and their spirits are trapped in Silent Hill
or maybe what the police officer said has some meaning in it all
when the fires started in Silent Hill, the bodies of the missing people (who ended up in the alternate Silent Hill because of Alessa) were never to be found
they all vanished in thin air
the same thing happened to Rose and her daughter
the police never found their bodies in the crash site

actually, the game Silent Hill 2 doesn't continue from the first game
the main character doesn't have a daughter and his only reason of going to Silent Hill is because he receives a letter from his wife who passed away three years earlier and longing to see her, he goes to Silent Hill

I doubt that they're going to make a sequel based on Silent Hill 2
it wouldn't make much sense

at the end the blonde haired woman is dead. she and the little girl. they both died, so thats why it looked different than from when the guy was laying there in the same room. she died cuz she got stabbed, and the little girl died cuz she opened her eyes and saw the other little girl which took over her body. o.o get it now?? *blink blink*

ps....movie sucked big time :[

Its funny that you all are saying that at the end her and her daughter were dead, if you listen carefully to the male cop with the burnt hands, he says that there was no sign that they (the wife and daughter) had been harmed. Also if you watch and think really hard about the very violent scene at the end, the *EVIL* (which has many names) goes up to the little girl and she passes out (which would signify that she might have been possessed?). Then if you also remember near the begining of the film, the women that lost her little girl in silent hill, stated that the evil chooses who can leave silent hill, thats why they are allowed to leave. I only wonder if they are going to do a sequel and have the father go to silent hill to try and rescue his wife and daughter (we will have to see). :@)

"Silent Hill" is just the name of the town

The blonde woman followed the main character into the alternate reality created by the evil entity that intertwined itself with the little girl (I forget whos name) who you see being burned alive near the end of the film. About two thirds of the way in you see the blonde woman die by way of fire becuase she is perceived as a threat or witch by the people who run the church there. The reason the main character's daughter seems exactly like the child who was burnt in the movie is becuase she is the remainder of the "goodness" isnide the twisted, phyco female you see strapped to a metal bed with barbed wire emitting from it at the end of the movie. So bassically the main character's daughter is a clone of the original.

Here is my best explanation on how the alternate reality was created -
In the early days of Silent Hill there was a church group there who were extremist witch hunters, who would burn alive anyone who was percieved to be a witch or be involved with any kind of magical activity. For some reason these people thought the little girl you see near the end of the movie being burned alive was witch or an "impure child" becuase they did not know who her father was. So they roasted her alive like you would a chishcabob, unfortunately she survived (to go through that much pain would be horrible, so it would be better if she had died) and her hatred of people slowly grew and grew. Eventually an unknown entity (possibly the devil) visited her and decided to use her hatred to reek as much havoc and pain on the people who did that her as she could as payback. So they touch hands and they become interwined which gives the girl the ability to create the alternate reality which you see in the movie.
