SOTW for Oct 1 - 7 (Sports Anime)

This is my first time picking the theme so thanks to everyone who voted for me

The theme I choose is sports anime so things such as hajime no ippo or eyeshield 21, etc would work.

"Eyeshield 21" is one of the few sports anime/manga that I enjoy other than "SLAM DUNK".

Maybe I'm misinterpreting the theme... but I was under the impression that it was supposed to feature "sports anime" (ie. anime that themselves have sports themes)...

Clarification would be good (either way).

Quick Questions would Zoids be considered a sport?
Since it's anime(piloted by a character =\ ) and eh..it's battling other zoids..?

I dont think ZOIDS are "sports". I say stick to REAL sports like soccer, baseball, basketball, etc. Theres PLENTY of anime out there, just look for it.

...now if ZOIDS REALLY existed and tournaments were held than I guess it'd be considered sports but VERY unfortunately we dont live in such a world....yet.

O.O i was wondering if the general theme for the anime was to have sports or if the anime was suppose to be about sports. Lots of animes have sport clipd s in them but i'm not sure there are a huge ammout of completly sport based animes

Seeing as "sports anime" is a major subgenre, there should be more than enough to work with in the theme given. I don't think that fighting games or fantasy series should necesarily count (but I didn't choose the topic... so it's hard to know for certain what was meant by "sports anime") ^^;

Had the phrasing been "sports in anime" and the examples given included "some character holding a baseball bat", I might think differently.
