I must have been lucky or you were very unlucky. My headset / mic was $10 and works perfectly. The ear pieces just wrap around my ears with the mics sticking out in front of my mouth. The mic picks up sound even if I don't have my headset on my head. I can almost be in the same room, talk and people can still hear me.

well i bought my headphones with mic for 20 lv. that is equal to 9$ and i've been using them for more than a year...there cable is a bit chewed...i got a habbit like that

Well mine controls the sound and doesn't pick it up, but when I speak into it on some cases it has poor quality its not so bad but I don't want people mistaking me.

You have a habbit of chewing your cables? hmm... funny. lol. So you were the type of kid in school that would chew all their pen tops? Ewwww....

No its just the brand of microphone I have, it sucks alot...
