It was originally a British teen fantasy novel back in the 80’s…it was later made into a movie by the famous Hayao Miyazaki and it was published by Studio Ghibli. Since I own the movie I will tell you it is classic Miyazaki and one of the top 5 of his films (IMO)…I do not believe there is a sequel to come even though there was a sequel to the novel...it was called ‘Castle in the Air’…but don’t confuse that with Miyazaki’s ‘Castle in the Sky’ as they aren’t the same.
The book was awesome! My anime-hating friend (who I have just converted to the way of the manga) found out it had become anime and flew into a rage that lasted for several hours . . . . correction: months. I haven't seen it in anime form, but I loved the book and strongly recommend it. British fantasy all the way, mates! :2thumbs:
