![]() ![]() Credits: 46,369 | Grumble Grumble Grumble And from a historical point of view, the movie is based on one of the earliest successful Manga series, dating back to the late 1940s... And since no one wants to step up to the plate, I claim the movie is this one... ![]() M E T R O P O L I S: Sony Entertainment Website Based on the Osamu Tezuka manga series of the same name of 1949, directed by Rintaro. (And the climax of this Movie is filled with loud colorful explosions!!)

![]() ![]() Credits: 46,369 | Re: Name That Anime! Grumble grumble grumble Okay, I'll set the one with the Tank aside, and use a Historic one... This Famous Anime multi-season TV series is widely considered of Major Anime Historical Importance, and uses the magical transformation chant "Moon Prism Power - Make Up"... What is this Famouse Anime Series, and extra bragging rights if you can say why it is of Major Historical Importance...

![]() ![]() Credits: 608 | Re: Name That Anime! That would be Sailor Moon. Historical significance can be one of three things. Either that it breathed life back into the "Magical Girl" anime genre That it pretty much started off the "Magical Girl Team" anime genra Or that (or atleast I think it was) Kotono Mitsuishi's first major role.....though I could be wrong. She later went on to star in countless anime including Eva, Noir, Utena, and GTO. EDIT: oh I probably should send hammer a heads up that I want to join the clan. Many apologies for jumping in head first. Last edited by frr_Vegeta; Sep 19, 2006 at 12:50 PM. |

![]() ![]() Credits: 46,369 | Re: Name That Anime! Grumble Grumble Grumble Correct on the first two counts, but don't know on the third, (grumble grumble grumble...) not to mention it was also one of the few breakout Anime series of the 1990s, as well as the first Shoujo breakout series... Wikipedia has a nice write up on Sailor Moon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

![]() ![]() Credits: 608 | Re: Name That Anime! Lets see what anime should I use.... Alright...this anime takes place in a furturistic, all-male society on a distant planet. Terror arises as a dictator rampages on, bent on global domination. However....something deeper and far more important lies beneath his actions. |

![]() ![]() Credits: 46,369 | Re: Name That Anime! Grumble Grumble Grumble Okay, I'll use the one with the tank... This anime series of Minor Anime Historical Importance has as one of it's main 'characters' a accuratly drawn Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Type 74 Main Battle Tank, which can be identified by it's unique hydro-pneumatic suspension system, who's use is demonstrated in the opening episode of this series. (and extreme trivia bragging rights if you know why this series is of Historical importance...)
