Grumble Grumble Grumble (Now it's time to show why my title is the 'Grouchy Old Anime Otaku'!!!) let's start with an easy series of historical importance... I am a Anime series of Great Historical Anime importance, and I claim to be based on the Jules Verne story '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea'. What Anime TV series am I, and extra bragging rights if you can explain why I'm of historical importance...

![]() ![]() Credits: 46,369 | Re: Name That Anime! Grumble Grumble Grumble At the end of the 1980s with the implosion of the real estate market bubble... (the bubble was so bad, that at it's height, the Imperial Palace grounds in Tokyo was appraised at a higher value then the entire state of Florida!!!), Anime was a dying industry with no one willing to invest in new anime production. But with the support of the NHK (Japanese Public Broadcasting) TV Network, GAINAX Studios produced their first TV series. Nadia:The Secret of Blue Water which was so successful that it single handedly triggered the Anime Rebirth boom of the 1990s... 'Nadia' also marks the end of the 'anime for the sake of art' productions of the 'Golden Age' of Anime, and marks the beginning of Anime 'story telling' through the length of the entire series, who's trend continues to this day... (There are only three Anime series that mark the beginning or end of a Anime era, and Nadia is the most recent one...)
