~ that is set in a world where gods, demons and humans live among each other.
~ Main character is a boy.
~ A lot of female characters are part of this anime as well.

i really suck at giving out hints......hopefully it may be challenging. ^ ^

Okay, let's try something REALLY REALLY HARD... This is the anime series that features the most famous anime character ever to star in a obscure anime series (I'd be surprised if anyone here has actually seen it, but everyone knows the main character!!!)

Clues...
1. The Main character is not a cat girl, but a girl cat.
2. She has a twin sister named 'Mimi'
3. Megumi Hayashibara (who was the original voice for Rei Ayanami of 'Neon Genesis Evangelion, Faye Valentine of 'Cowboy Bebop', and Lina Inverse of 'Slayers') did the voice of the main character in some of the more recent versions of this series
4. To watch this series requires great tolerance to extreme anime 'KAWAII'

There, that should be enough to identify the series, and if not, I'll toss more clues on the main character...

Nope... In the two OVA and 1 TV series, Nuku Nuku never had a twin sister... (Though Megumi did do her voice)
