This is my very first tattoo. It was for my 18th birthday and my husbands Christmas present since he was not going to be here for Christmas. While he went and got his name on his forearm I went and got something I've always tried to do in my life. I've wanted this tattoo for about 6 months and really didn't think I had the strength to get it down...as I was in the room I almost chickened out. Though I became brave and almost ripped Paul's arm off. It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would...What do you guys think?

Those characters do SORT OF mean "lifestyle" "laughter" and "love"... but without any grammar to tie them together, they don't actually make any intelligible phrase. You've got 2 and a half nouns there... "sei" can't be used alone to mean "life"... (a better choice would be "inochi" 命, then you'd at least have 3 nouns). But you seem to have been going for verbs...

      Now it means literally:

"condition of living laughter romantic love"

On the upside, the characters are well-drawn. There aren't any mistakes.

You can get a 2nd opinion about the characters in Chinese here: http://www.hanzismatter.com/

Yeah before he tattooed it he went to some website to get it...I had the picture and I didn't actually think one of the characters were right...but he kept swearing up and down that he looked up the Chinese Characters. Thank you for the information Tsurara I really appreciate it.
