Nightmare Before Christmas first arrived at theaters back in 1993 as the first ever motion stop picture, and still is one of the well known movies throughout the goth scene.

Although the movie is over 10 years old, the spectacular design and story is still interesting to this day. For its one movie that will never go old. Even known in theaters in America. There is even a 3D version, which I would suggest you go and see if you are lucky enough to get the tickets.

Storyline

The story is about the Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington and his journey in search of something different from the same old Halloween celebrations performed each year.

It all starts late one night after Halloween, when Jack goes for a long walk with his dog Zero and stumbles across a clearing in the forest.

Graphics

Its graphics as a stop motion picture isn't half bad and the designs for the characters are very unique to all of Burton's films.

Music

As for it being a musical, the soundtrack is just as great. The composer Danny Elfman, who had worked with Burton previously on films such as Batman, returned to work with Burton to help create a great sound track to the masterpiece film. Then in 2006, there was a recently new release of the soundtrack that included covers from well known artists.

Overall Thoughts

The story to some may seem very weird and not really their thing but to others it will encourage their imagination to be guided by the one of the greatest directors and writers, Tim Burton.

After falling in love with the movie when my mother brought it on VHS (seems so long ago) it really did open up a whole new world for me. The storyline was great for a family film and appeals to all ages. Although my mother may not have liked it, I really enjoyed it.

My Recommendation

I for one would recommend watching this movie to your hearts contempt as you would really enjoy it. If you are into the whole fantasy side of things and aren't afraid of what goes bump in the night during Halloween season, then this movie is perfect for you.
