It's been a hard year. My father died in May, money is beyond tight, I am homeschooling both my children this year, still am not expecting, and I am having troubles finding a publisher for my cookbook. Still, I have my family and all their love and that makes it all worth it.

So going into this holiday season I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Don't forget no matter what else is wrong as long as you have love it is all worth it.

Did you know that if you freeze a can of soda it will explode and spew icy fizz everywhere?

I didn't until my son decided to turn the thermostat on my refrigerator all the way down. I was cleaning fizz off the ceiling let alone the rest of it.

Did you know sun screen may wash off in water when it's on your skin but on glass it adheres like there is no tomorrow?

It's a little difficult to see in the bathroom mirror right now. Whoever thought that spray bottle style sunscreen dispensers was a good idea never thought of just how far a child could spray one.

Did you know that if you use enough shampoo you can turn it into bubble bath?

Evidently it takes the entire bottle though. I'm still not sure my son got as many bubbles as he wanted before we found out, to late I may add.

Did you know that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree?

All the same he has come up with some that just never occurred to me when I was his age. Who knows what it will be tomorrow?

Which is why my kids have been vomiting for a week now.

On the plus side I'm getting closer to having the background and chapter outlines finished for the book I'm writing. It is taking longer then expected but that's ok.

The Cookbook comes ever closer to completion. That's what I get for deciding to do it encyclopedia style. I'm learning a lot in order to fill in the blanks but I need more vegetarian dishes.

So I guess life goes on. There's never enough money but we're rich in the things that count; our children, friends, family and each other.

It has been a good holiday. It was really nice having our own place to celebrate it. So much calmer and quiet. Barronmore even listened to Christmas music this year.

New Years... was horrid in comparison. Half of my family was sick and none of my friends could make it for New Years Eve. So I spent New Years on-line while our kids watched video's and stayed up till midnight... well sort of. The youngest fell asleep at 8 minutes to. I'm impressed he lasted that long.

Any man who draws a girl wearing strapless thigh high stockings should be forced to wear them. I don't care how sexy they look (except on a man I'm sure *shiver*) after 3-4 hours they start raising little blisters. Ouch!

I can always spot another parent when I pass them holding my youngest sons hand. It's the smile of knowing amusement at his viking hat and teddy bear blanket cape that tips me off. You should hear his "super hero voice".

Kedars back! And he closed the thread about it himself.

Well I'm glad to see him and I hope he stays.

Toilet training... is hard at night. Cross your fingers.

The holidays, have been good. We had 18 people over for Thanksgiving dinner, it was tight. Perhaps that's the reason my sister decided to keep her family home for Christmas dinner. So seven less people, possibly 2 more, so probably 13. It should be nice. I'm petitioning to be allowed to make the ham.

On the flip side... both kids needed dental work. My youngest is going in for drilling tomarrow. At that age they just knock them out. We have to keep him from eating for 4 hours before.... wish me luck. He sneaks food all the time. I never worry about him starving.

Also I just messed up my left calf. I always watched shows where a parent tripped over their kids toys and were hurt and I laughed... it's not funny anymore. Well see what the Chiropractor says when I see him in a half an hour. [Edit: It's a light sprain. He says I'm really lucky. )
