Ok. HAPPY TURKEY DAY ... Well after!!! How was Thanxgiving guys. I hope it was the bestest. I worked, but hey I also got paid double time so whatever lol. My topic today is confusing anime. Ok so I'm not stupid, but sometime when I'm watching an anime, I get so confused as to what the heck is goin on. Like Boogie Pop or FLCL. I dont get them.
Boogie pop I'll let go becuz I didnt really try. I have to admit that. I watched maybe half the first episode, but FLCL? I watched the majority of that show and got absolutely NOTHING!!! It was like watching a car wreck. You dont know what's goin on, but you still watch like you're mesmerized. People tell me they liked it, but I'm like...HOW??? What was it about? Can you even tell me? Do you even know. Or were you a deer caught in headlights like me?
Another thing is I watch alot of subtitles and so ani-voices kinda blur together, not often, but often enough for me to get irritated with myself for not knowing any Japanese...lol. And I've seen anime where they put the subtitles in 2 different colors so you know that 2 different people are talking, but I dont know who said what becuz darn it...I was READING!! (Note to self: New pet peeve: Scenes that are happening so fast that I have to back up a couple times, just to catch the whole subtitle...lol) So by the middle of whatever I'm watching, I'm so lost as to who is suppose to be who. And let's not talk about anime specifically designed to drive me crazy but making everybody look pretty much the same, just different hair color. I am proud of myself for always being able to tell when a character is not a female, but a feminine male (with a female voice actor...lol) Oooh and another thing. Could they not put explanations of Japanese lore at the top of the screen in italicized small font? Dude, I cant read that and even if I could, I dont have time to read that and the subtitles...
...I'm just sayin...
My anime pick is: Utawarerumono
I totally watched this becuz of how original the name seemed to me. I didnt know what it meant. I didnt really care either, but as soon as I watched the first episode I was hooked. Hooked I tell ya!!
The basic story is about Hakuoro and his rise to king. One day a masked man is found in the forest and is nursed back to health by the lovely (and tailed) Eruru. He doesnt know what his name is or what happened to him, but he finds himself unable to remove the mask from his face, yet another mystery in his life. He soon becomes a part of Eruru's tribe, as he helps them slay the God, that once protected them, but has become vengeful towards them.
I know, I'm being a bit vague, but ya know, I'm not trying to tell you what happens just what it's about.
He later becomes their leader, protecting them thru war and battles, gathering more allies and more enemies on the way. But as the story goes on, you find out that there is another underlying story goin on. Why was Hakuoro found in the forest, fatally wounded, with amnesia? Why does everyone seem to want to follow him? What is the ominous force trailing him and his newly acquired tribe? Why does he feel so drawn to Eruru? AARRGGHH!!! SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!
Well I guess you'll just have to go watch it, then 8)
...Go ahead! It wont bite you! Well, maybe...

Ok so its daylight savings time. A whole hour extra to watch anime before I go to sleep. I know I know...I'm suppose to use that time to sleep and maybe I will. I have watched so much anime over the years it's hard to keep up. I'm so busy wanting to see it all. And after I see the ones I really wanna see the most, I wind up wishing I hadnt raced thru them...sigh. I really need to pace myself.
Oh well my little anime buddies. That's just the way it's gonna be.
Hey! You ever wonder how they choose the voice actors. I mean look at some of the great voice actors, Greg Ayres, Hilary Haag, Chris Patton, etc. I know it might seem weird becuz I never wonder if the voice actors are bad when I watching the subtitles. I dont know japanese or understand a lot of the inflections, so i dont hear any bad voice acting. But I just tolerated bad acting in the dubbed versions. Saiyuki Reload made me totally stop watching it becuz I was so used to hearing certain voices. So I guess I cant call it bad acting especially since I looked it up and they seem to be the same peeps. And if it is I just wanna shake them and say go back to the way you were so it doesnt sound so strange. Anyway, maybe I should watch the subtitled version and it wont seem so bad.
Another thing is that I cant watch the subtitled version without hearing it. It's like I'm translating the voices in english lol. Anyway, I use to hate subtitles cuz you can miss alot when you have to look down, but now its easier for me to compensate for that. My swift eye movement lol. But I love subtitles now. I guess it teaches whatever side of you brain that controls reading comprehension to speed up becuz now I'm a pro at reading them and keeping up with the action. Until of course the add word descriptions at the top of the screen. That always throws me off. I usually have to rewind and read it first and then reread the subtitle with my new and cool japanese knowledge lol.
Well I'm goin ta bed right after I put an anime watch...Gnight guys and gals...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...o wait...I forgot I'm not done...Keep reading. Not too much further now 8)
My anime pick: Blood+
First let me say that the name Saya is now my favorite name. If you like tragic heroines then Blood is definitely for you. I thought it was gonna turn out like X. I hated X for one reason and one reason only: There was no hope left. Everything was sad and depressing and whereas, Blood did have my tearing up at every turn. It still left me with this feeling that everything was gonna turn out ok.
Saeya is our heroine. You gotta love her even though she tries to hold the whole world up on her shoulders. She never wants anyone else to shoulder the responsibility mainly becuz she doesnt want anybody else to suffer. And she'll continue on until she stops her twin sister Diva. And if you dont find Saya hard to escape, there is still Kai and Rikku her brothers, Haji, her companion and friend, Red Shield, and a slew of enemies to tied you over.
So many things happen in this anime. There's a love like pentagram...lol. Acts of betrayal. Death and mayhem. Love and sadness. Good and Evil. Secret agencies and political backwash. And a really sad ending. And I know each episode will leave you wondering what's gonna happen next. Oh and a surprising ending. Pick it up. Put it in and watch it.

Hi my friends!! It's Noon:38pm = 12:38pm lol. It's almost time for me to go to work. I've been watching a lot of Inuyasha for the last couple days becuz I'm trying to watch them all, but it looks like the site I go to stops at 167. I know it cant stop there. Sigh. Anyway, I love the 2 sites I visit. You cant ever possibly run out. There's not that much anime watchin in the world.
How often do you guys visit this site? I think I visit every night...or rather just glance in to see if anything catches my eye. But I really only post in 2 threads: Name That Anime and Who Am I. I'm a big game and puzzle fan. Oh and I also posted in Name that Anime trivia game...where they give you a list of hints to different animes and you pick a number that hasnt been answer and try to answer the hint. Cool, yes? But I glance around the site and when something catches my eye I post. Plus I chat with some of my friends when they're on, so that's cool too.
My Anime Pick: Claymore
I only started watching this anime becuz of the name. If you play Everquest 2, you'll know what I mean. If not, in EQ2, there are 2 monuments and a really long epic quest you can do called Claymore. I knew it wouldnt have anything to do with that, but hey...never know! Anyway the 2nd thing that caught my eye was the heroine. I LOVE anime about strong women who arent ditzy or unnecessarily mean to their friends even though i'll still watch those if the story line is cool.
Claymore is about a race of females who are half human, half youma (demon). Well they hunt youma turned humans who threaten mankind. They fight demons, as well as their own pull to become demons, everyday. They have superhuman strength and speed, heightened senses, and depending on how strong they are, they also have their own powerful abilities. You find out a bit later that they are labelled by a number. The lower the number the stronger they're suppose to be. Claire (the heroine) has a high number. And the other Claymore pick on her becuz of it.
Claire is a loner. Nothing new, most Claymore are. With her silvery eyes, distinctive to the Claymore race, and her big sword she destroys any youma that she comes across. Usually they go where they're sent though and in stories like this anytime you have an organization, there's a chance that the organization is ... well not really fighting the good fight, but have their own alterior motives that have to do with greed or a desire to take over the world or kill everybody in it. I havent gotten that far, but Claymore management seems a bit iffy.
Oh did I forget Raki? I didnt mean to. He's important to the storyline and is the reason why Claire hasnt fully turn and later learns to control her change somewhat. Raki is the boy she saves in the first episode, who becomes her companion through out the series. She pretty much adopts him and makes him her cook even though she rarely eats (claymore only really need to eat maybe twice a week if that). There adventure is action packed and leaves you wanting more. Trust me on this. I wont spoil anymore of it for you. Go head and watch it!!
What are you still lookin at this for? Go watch!! LOL

Ok. I couldnt sleep. It's like 5:10am EST. I can't sleep. Not really a pain, but it means that I wont wake up til late. I'll miss the whole day and then my days off will be over. Being able to sleep in is cool, but sleeping away the day that's considered your free day is the pits. And it means that I'm either watching anime on my laptop or an extra viewing of an episode of Inuyasha that I've prolly seen a couple times already before. Yep. Its the episode called The Woman Who Loved Sesshomaru.
RECAP!!!! SPOILER!!! Close your eyes. Fight the pull of the unknown!!!
Sessh has a love interest. Yep yep he does and she is taken over by a demon and steals the tetsaiga. I know, how dare she. She tries to give it to Sessh but he wont take it. Of course. An obvious reaction. Nobody gets in the way of his disdain for his brother. Sessh is too cool. He's aloof, calm and too keen for comfort. He's not really evil. He's just well...a demon. He is a bit uppity too. He thinks he's above most things and that everybody else is so far below his radar that he just ignores them. You ever notice that he doesnt just kill for the heck of it? He only tries to kill when you get in his way. If you would just step aside, you'd come out ok.
Oooo. The closing song: Come. (Absolutely love every Inuyasha closing theme)
2nd episode of the night is The Last Banquet of Miroku's Master.
Ok. How did such a lush raise a little boy? Where was DYFS (dept of youth and family services)? Kagg made Inu sit again. Sigh. She is so mean to him even though she knows how he is. It's not even his fault. Sango was comin' on to HIM. I like Kagg. She strong and kind and you just wanna fight by her side, but I just wanna kick her for being mean to Inu sometimes. Sometimes he totally deserves everything he gets, but most of the time he's just being himself. He spent most of his time alone and defending himself. You cant expect the guy to just jump to a new tune.
Oh recapping the actual episode...lol. Miroku hears that his old mentor is dying, but the old man is a swilling lying, dork. Take that however you wanna. He convinces them to do all his house chores, buy him an expensive dinner, and practically steal sake like all sake isnt well...gross...well to me anyway. If you've never had sake, I think you should try it before you listen to me, but I hated it...lol. "I think I'll drink some sake."..."YOU'RE ALREADY DRINKING SAKE!!!"
MY ANIME PICK: GHOST HUNT!
If you like anime that is suspenseful, Ghost Hunt is for you. It's about a young girl who gets roped into joining a special group that take on supernatural cases. It's bit scary for the weak hearted, but its also funny and lightly packed with action. Takes a lot to fight evil, but they use sutras, chants, psalms, and spiritual powers. You expect so many different views on the spiritual to clash, but not with this group. They have a total respect for each other and each other's ability, even though you wouldnt think so in the beginning. And what is this? Love interest a bloom? Who knows. I guess ya just gotta watch. The best way to watch this anime is on a big screen, with the lights off and the volume up!! Enjoy! I give this anime a 5 out of 5! Woohoo
